Apophenia Duveen Galleries, Tate Britain
Gallery Intervention/Multi-channel Installation
LATE at TATE 1 May 2015

In ‘Apophenia’, two mirrored films play on opposing walls of the Upper Duveen Galleries of Tate Britain. Flickering staccato images graded to a harsh monotone, shapes, seem to congeal into recognisable forms only to dissolve back into abstraction. ‘Apophenia’ describes the tendency for us to see or create discernible patterns in things, even disordered or chaotic systems.
